This software is released as BETA. This release of Remote Control X has only been tested on my computer, and as such, there may be some bugs I have not encountered. Use at your own risk. I am not responsible for any damage this program may cause to your computer.
There are three known bugs as of this release:
- If you are using the shortcut that was automatically placed in your start menu, you will not be able to open the help file from within Remote Control X. To correct this, right click on the shortcut and select properties. Change the Start In text box under the Shortcut tab to the path you installed Remote Control X, i.e. “C:\Program Files\Remote Control X”.
- The program is designed to auto-detect your COM port starting with 1 up to 4. If it finds a device on a COM port, such as a modem, it will stop and try to communicate with it instead of your infrared transmitter. To correct this, make sure that you have the transmitter on the lowest possible COM port in your system, preferably COM 1.
- The program has difficulties with certain controllers. It especially has a hard time with sticks with rotational axes such as the MS Force Feedback Pro. If possible, try a different controller.
If you encounter any other bugs when using this program, please e-mail me at kevin@gottcreations.com with a brief description of the circumstances in which the bug occurred. All information provided to me will help me to improve the quality of this program.
